Posted by Aggie on Oct 1, '07 3:33 AM for everyone | | Just got back from Cebu and I feel so incredibly blessed. Everything was just so breathtaking... the pristine white sandbar, the seemingly ancient rocks, the lush greenery, the myriad blues and greens reflected in the water. Couple this with deluxe accommodations, warm and friendly service, excellent food and you've got a vacation that's absolutely unforgettable.
I won't immediately forget sitting on that blue-draped payag-payag on a windy corner of the island with my Bible and just being with God as he was, majestic skies, vast seas, forever in a view. I couldn't bring myself to leave, even when droplets of rain started falling all around. God is wonderful, and there are really few better ways to see it than just getting out there and seeing and experiencing His glorious creation.
Now, scuba, that was something. Getting accustomed to the equipment took me some time, but when I got the hang of it, it hit me... in front of me, all around me was beauty in its truest sense! Tiny fish, most of which were no longer than my index finger, floated around me in troves, darting in and out of coral of mind-boggling variety and colors. I reached out to touch some of them and inwardly squealed with delight as I felt them... soft and fine as angel's hair for others and hard and knobby for the rest. The colors were incredible: fish were in canary yellow, apple green, silver, white, black, electric blue, stripes, dots... with the occasional cornflower blue starfish with impossibly long appendages and sea urchins with radii as wide as volleyballs (of course, I didn't touch those). I really had to force myself to breathe.
Beautiful. And God was really so good in letting me win that gift certificate. Imagine spending roughly P1,000 a head for a P26k value? The expense didn't seem real at all, so I allowed myself to get crazy inside the pasalubong store.
Praise the Lord who loves all of us so much! I felt it so keenly this weekend and my whole self is grateful, up to the very tips of my fingertips. |
